The light shines very brightly and I really liked that the plug did not have a transformer attached. It is a two prong plug that goes right into the socket without taking up additional room. Cons: The base of the lamp rocks a teeny tiny bit, but it is entirely unnoticeable unless you put your whole hand on it to rock it back and forth. I only discovered this tiny fallacy when I checked it out thoroughly in preparation for writing this review. Also, for those who care, the lamp base is plastic as is the top part, but the extension is metal. Light bulb is set behind a piece of glass that is removable should you wish to change the bulb.
